We released an update for Myibidder Android app today. It contains the "Import Watching List" and "Import Bidding List" features.

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.myibidder.aclient1

What's in this version:
Changes:
a. Added "Import Watching List" and "Import Bidding List".
b. Some minor cleanups to preserve memory.
c. This is still Beta version in testing stage (ask questions when not sure, we are here to help).

Limitations:
a. No Groups management yet

Known bugs (should not affect sniping):
a. Some information is not getting updated automatically
b. If your time is out of sync, the ending time may show up slightly offset but it does not affect sniping.

hey sashka,

does the app need to be running all the time or is it using a system scheduling service to "wake up" right before the auction? i mean you could use sth. like cron to get started 2 minutes before auction.

cheers,
fox

You do not need to keep the app running all the time.
It does not use your system scheduler.

All snipes are done using a remote server so you can safely turn off your Android device or be completely disconnected after you set up a snipe.

Hi,

on nearly everything. But it seems to me that this has to do with some server outages of the myibidder.com server. The server couldn't be reached several times today...!?

Best regards,
Carsten

I see no issues on the server's end, it seems like something with connection between you and the server.

Can you please do a traceroute to the www.myibidder.com and post the full report here?
Also, please do http://www.speedtest.net/ and post your download/upload speed and ping time.
Do you feel the same slowness when accessing this forum too?

If you are on 3G/4G Android phone, can you also try to access it through 3G/4G network instead of your WiFi just to see if there is a difference?

Hi Sashka,

today all is well. Yesterday, I couldn't reach the myibidder.com website (and also this forum) from time to time. I thought you have had some server problems.

speedtest.net now says: 25 ms ping time, download 5.83 mps, upload 0,6 mps

It seems to me that the problem is solved. Don't know what went wrong yesterday accessing your server...

Best regards,

Carsten

I checked the stats from yesterday and I see the server has normal activity load. No drops, no issues.
I'd guess there was some connection issue between you and the server which caused that.

Next time, when you see the same issue, please do a traceroute to the www.myibidder.com to see which host is having the problem so I can address it with them.
