I had set up a snipe which would have been the winning bid, however my bid was not placed and this message has appeared
'Unknown Error'
Please advise.

As I mentioned in the support ticket already, the error came from eBay directly and not from the sniper.
This usually indicates some internal issue on eBay's side. This is usually a temporary issue which is resolved quickly on their side.
Currently, I see all snipes are good as of now.

The cause is the same as I explained above.
The sniper fully relies on eBay's functionality. If eBay is having any issues and you can't bid even manually, then the sniper can't bid too.
Good thing is that eBay is usually quick on resolving such problems.

I had unknown errors on 5 auctions, with 3 having bids higher than the ending price of the item. The latest unknown error occurred at 10:51 EST, or what would be 3:51 GMT.

It's been on and off. Some snipes were fine, but not all.
I keep monitoring the status and it looks much better now.
Seems like eBay resolved the issue.
